WHY Strengths Awareness?

Unlocking Your Strengths: Play the Course Where You Thrive!

Everyone has a unique combination of talents, those natural patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that come easily to us. But because these strengths feel so instinctive, we often overlook them, assuming “Surely everyone can do this?” (Spoiler alert: they can’t.)

To understand your strengths is to discover the course where you're most likely to win, and play with ease.

Let’s use one of my favourite hobbies (golf) as our analogy:

The Green (Top 5 Strengths):
This is where the magic happens. When you’re on the green, you’re in your natural zone of brilliance, things feel smooth, energising, and effective. You’re using your top 5 strengths: these are your elite clubs, the ones you instinctively reach for and perform best with. This is your best game. It feels good, and others notice.

The Tee Box (Strengths 6–10):
You are in a strong position here. These talents are right behind your top 5, and they give you the solid footing to launch your next move. Think of this as your prep zone, your swing is strong, your mindset is focused, and these strengths are fully capable of driving success when you lean into them.

The Fairway (Strengths 11–20):
You are on a clear path forward. These strengths may not be your first instinct, but with awareness and intention, they can fully support your journey. They are reliable, like your irons. You may need to work a bit harder here, but it is a productive and empowering space to grow.

The Bunkers (Strengths 21-30):
Let’s be honest, this is not your favourite spot. You can function here, sure… but it takes effort, drains energy, and usually leaves you thinking, “Let me just get through this and back to where I shine.” These “lesser talents” are definitely not weaknesses; they are just not your winning shots. You have to focus and use more energy, and that is okay.

Out of Bounds (Strengths 31–34):
We all have them, the talents that are, well, out of bounds. These are the ones that feel like hitting a shot into a water hazard or into the trees, completely out of your comfort zone. You can play to these strengths, but they will only cause frustration and might even pull you off course. Go to the drop zone and play your best game from there. There will be other players who are naturally great in these particular areas, and that is where self-awareness comes in.

So how do you figure out which part of the course you’re playing on?

With a strengths assessment, we will get a detailed map of your personal strengths landscape. From there, we can explore what comes naturally and energizes you. During the Strengths Awareness Feedback Session, we reflect on the moments when you have felt completely in flow, when time seemed to disappear, and you were just in it. What tasks leave you feeling stronger and more fulfilled, instead of drained? By identifying these moments, we can focus on amplifying your strengths, so you can work smarter and achieve more with ease.

Once you know your top talents, you can lean into them. Aim for the green more often. Build habits, careers, and relationships that let those strengths shine. That’s when real growth, confidence, and fulfilment take off.

The goal is not to master every part of the course, it’s to play your best game, your way.

"I was tired of pushing my team for results with little progress. Strengths-based coaching flipped the script. Instead of fixing problems, we started building on what each person naturally does well. The shift in energy was immediate, and performance followed. I finally feel like I’m leading, not just managing."
